My husband and I are looking at moving to the Seattle area within the next year or so. We both love Seattle but want to look at the surrounding cities to live in. There are so many great job opportunities in Seattle but we're not sure we want to live in the city.
What are the best towns to live in near Seattle? Which ones have the best housing accommodations? I'm impressed with Bremerton but it seems somewhat far away from the city. Ideally, we'd like to work in Seattle but live elsewhere. Are there any suggestions? What are the best towns to live in near the Seattle area?
Bremerton/Kitsap county is nice with a small town feeling. The housing is much cheaper than in King county. The problem is, there aren't many jobs in Kitsap county and the commute to Seattle is either by ferry or you drive around. The ferries are state run and reliable but it does add a lot of time to the day. Driving is about the same time I suppose and there is a toll on the Tacoma narrows bridge so that adds to the cost. If you know about Seattle you must also know about the weather. Pretty dark and wet from about now until spring. Try looking up Kingston, Poulsbo, Bremerton, Port Orchard, Silverdale, there is some info on each town on the internet. Seems to be a lot of houses for sale in Kitsap county so I would assume the prices are down.
