What are the best places for someone 20 and 21 to visit in Seattle? Looking for fun things to do...Doesn't necessarily have to be bars, etc. Sightseeing is fine too- just looking for neat city things to do since we've never been there before. Thanks! What are the best places for someone 20 and 21 to visit in Seattle?
There's a lot to check out if you've never been to Seattle...
Definitely the stadium is great for checking out a Mariners game at Safeco Field. There really aren't bad seats in the house and it's an amazing stadium. It makes me forget about the Kingdome...
If you aren't coming right now, it's always great and exciting if you're here during football season to check out a Seahawks game at Qwest Field, right across the street from Safeco Field. Experience the sound and excitement of one of the nation's loudest crowds of fans!
Check out Pike Place Market for all sorts of interesting shops, the first Starbucks (if you like Starbucks), and great fresh produce, fish and baked goods! It's right near the piers so you can just walk to the piers to check out the aquarium, the waterfront, great ferry rides, and Ye Olde Curiosity Shop, a quirky gift shop complete with real mummies in the back!
Seattle Center has a lot of offerings, from the Space Needle to the Experience Music Project, to the Fun Forest, downtown Seattle's mini-amusement park. Rides for adults and also kiddie rides if you're bringing children. In July, there's the Bite of Seattle going on on the grounds of Seattle Center and it's a food festival with lots of "cheap" eats. It's a free weekend festival!
The Seattle Art Museum is great to visit if you are interested in art and you can easily walk there from the Pike Place Market.
In the Ballard area, a bit out of downtown Seattle, is a quirky fun shop called Archie McPhee on Market St. in the heart of Ballard. It's a great, albeit a bit strange, gift shop that's full of surprising and entertaining goodies! People come from all around to check it out even though it's a bit out of the way. It's easy enough to find and you can easily catch a bus or get directions from downtown.
If you have the time, passports, and the willingness to negotiate transportation, 2 hours north is Vancouver BC, which is a great city to visit and has an amazing Chinatown!
if you are into music definitely check out www.theveraproject.org . it is a really cool venue also go to www.thestranger.com. that will give you music, theater, all ages, movie and other listings. What are the best places for someone 20 and 21 to visit in Seattle?
gotta check out the science center, there is a carnival there, the Emp, monorail, a pavilion, imax movies, you can take the monorail to the mall and then walk a few blocks down to the Pike Place market, and then down to the Piers to places like the curiosity shoppe
Hmm if you are looking for an interesting place, I recommend checking out http://www.thisplaceiknow.com it鈥檚 got a great database of hidden and extra cool places all over the world. I use it for all my trips. Hope you find this helpful.
Pike Street Market is really cool. Underground city tour is also fun. And visit Fishermans Terminal. Of course there is always the Space Needle too.
Pike Place Market.
The Zoo.
Gilman Village, Issaquah.
Maggy Bluffs in the rear of the Pallisades Restaurant.
Good pick for a city to visit! Lots of fun stuff to do. If your looking for nightlife, Pioneer Square is fun. Pike Place Market, Westlake Center, Seattle Center, Pacific Science Center, Woodland Park Zoo, EMP and the aquarium are also fun. The Underground Tour was ok, neat historical tour, but I wouldn't really recommend it. When I went about 5 years ago a lot of it was blocked off and you couldn't walk through. Unless it has changed I would save your money for other tourist attractions. I didn't get around to do it while I lived there, but I would try the "Ride The Ducks" tour. Looked fun. You can go on the streets and then into the water. You will love this city. Its one of the most beautiful in the U.S.. Great scenery, friendly people and CLEAN AIR!!! (wow, huh?)Although the weather can be pretty much the same all year round, I would recommend going during the summer so you get the best you can. Have fun where ever you decide to go!
if you like baseball, definetly go to a mariners game at safeco. i've been to a lot of ballparks and safeco is the best. the pacific science center is a lot of fun too, and i went to the aquarium when i was little and i had a blast. also try out the space needle, it's a lot of fun
