How realistic is the merger between Mercy West and Seattle Grace on Grey's Anatomy?

I know most of the show is total rubbish, but I was just wondering how realistic the merger was? Do hospitals ever actually merge like that? And if it was Seattle Grace that ran out of money and its reputation, why did they get to stay and the other people had to come to them? And what about the hospital the Mercy West people are leaving, and all the equipment and beds and stuff - isn't that a huge financial loss? They are wasting an entire building and loads of equipment etc. - is this just total crap, or is there a good reason I'm just missing?How realistic is the merger between Mercy West and Seattle Grace on Grey's Anatomy?

to answer your question, grace and mercy are a comfortable mix, anatomy, grey or otherwise, has nothing to do with it.
