Where is a good place to stay in seattle that is near downtown attractions, but budget friendly too?

I am planning a vacation to Seattle in September and am trying to keep costs as low as possible. I would like to stay as close to downtown as possible and don't want to spend an insane amount of money, but I don't want to be sharing my space with bugs either. Ideally I'd like to keep it under $85 a night. Is this realistic? Thanks for the help!Where is a good place to stay in seattle that is near downtown attractions, but budget friendly too?
If you can plan your visit in September after Labor Day, it will help because the hotel rates go down somewhat after then. It still may not be realistic to find anyplace under $100 per night, depending on what your minimum criteria are. Here are some suggestions more or less in order of price (from lowest to higher - but still some of the least expensive options) and a link to ratings and reviews for each that may help you decide if any will work for you:

Green Tortoise Hostel: http://www.jdoqocy.com/click-3894326-107鈥?/a> is very conveniently located and probably the least expensive option if you are willing to stay in a hostel.

Moore Hotel: http://www.jdoqocy.com/click-3894326-107鈥?/a> Is a step up from a hostel, but most rooms don't have their own private bathroom - there is a shared bathroom for 2 or more rooms.

Sixth Avenue Inn: http://www.jdoqocy.com/click-3894326-107鈥?/a> is an older building that is conveniently located about 2 blocks from Westlake Center. It isn't fancy, but it is more of a traditional hotel with each unit with their own private bathroom but good prices.

Best Western Royal Inn: http://www.jdoqocy.com/click-3894326-107鈥?/a> Near the Seattle Center and Space Needle about 3/4 of a mile from the main downtown business district. It is similar to the Sixth Ave Inn - an older building with good prices.

Kings Inn: http://www.jdoqocy.com/click-3894326-107鈥?/a> - Another older hotel near the Seattle Center - similar to the Royal Inn

Quality Inn and Suites: http://www.jdoqocy.com/click-3894326-107鈥?/a> Typical Quality Inn if you've stayed in one before.

Red Lion Inn: http://www.jdoqocy.com/click-3894326-107鈥?/a> Very nice for the price if you can get a room for around $100 a night
yes
You can stay at a hostel

I can't seem to find the price, but a dorm should be way less than 85 bucks per night and a private room will be more expensive but pretty cheap as well, and probably under or near 85 bucks

there is contact info on the link to the I providedWhere is a good place to stay in seattle that is near downtown attractions, but budget friendly too?
Check out the Seattle youth hostel at http://hiusa.org/seattle

It's been awhile since I was there but it was clean safe and pleasant a few years ago and very much within your budget.

I often enjoy hostel-style accommodation even though I can now afford to spend more. I enjoy cooking in the communal kitchen and meeting people I would never meet if I stayed in a conventional hotel.
