How long does it take to be a resident in seattle washington?

I'm planning on attending college in seattle after my associate, but i need to know how long it takes to be considered a resident of wa.How long does it take to be a resident in seattle washington?
Usually for college tuition purposes, it's a year. But this rule can vary from school to school. Check specifically with the college you are planning to attend to get the full details.

Here is the UW website with state residency questions answered. According to this, you need to be a resident in WA for a year, establish ties to the area, and either not be a student (less than 7 credits) or have both a 30+ hour per week job and take classes (7 or more credits).

Coming to WA for school and living here while you are in school full time the first year doesn't cut it. If you are getting support from your parents, you'll need to prove that either they moved and have created a domicile in WA or that you are now independent.

It takes a year to become a Washington resident, but you obviously have to get a driver's license in Washington to get the ball rolling.
