Is there anywhere around the Seattle area that is decent to live in and has relativly cheap rent?

I am interested in moving around the Seattle area, I don't mind a 30-45 min drive from Seattle. I am looking for an area that has cheapish rent like Vancouver, WA does. Any suggestions? I also want it to be a safe area like Vancouver, WA is.Is there anywhere around the Seattle area that is decent to live in and has relativly cheap rent?
I suggest Edmonds, Washington. It's about 20 minutes north of the city, and it's beautiful. Right on the water. Great school district. Safe. Affordable. Close to the city. Perfect, really.Is there anywhere around the Seattle area that is decent to live in and has relativly cheap rent?
I think your best bet may be to look for people looking to rent out a private bedroom and bathroom in their own houses, in order for them to get help in avoiding foreclosures (in many cases). You can probably find a number of these situations on Craig's list. It's going to be hard to find "relatively cheap" rent for private houses and apartments in safe districts that are close to town.



Because of your concerns about safety, you will probably want to avoid renting on First Hill or in the Central District.
