What's the cheapest way to move furniture from Seattle to Chicago?

I have a bed (mattress, box sprint, frame, and headboard) in Seattle. What's the cheapest way to move it to Chicago? I don't want to spend more than couple of hundred dollars. What's the cheapest way to move furniture from Seattle to Chicago?
Shipping something of that sort will cost you over $200 easily with most shipping companies. Couple things you can do...

1. Find someone who has a truck that is heading that way from Seattle on craigslist. This may be tricky, so if you're on a tight schedule I'd go with option 2. What you'd need is to screen the people that responds, make sure they're legit, make sure they have a clear reason for heading to Chicago. Offer a flat fee, or offer to pay their gas.

2. Rent a van/truck from U-haul, or possibly an SUV/truck of some sort that will be big enough to carry everything. Option 1 may be cheaper, but this will be less risk-involved.

Feel free to find local businesses that ship furniture domestically nation-wide, and see if they have a connection to any trucking company. From experience, I believe a shipment of what you're suggesting will cost right around $250-300 with discount included.

Hope this helps!
