What ferry can I ride in Seattle to get a good view of the city?

I'm going to go to Seattle in a few days and I wanted to know what ferry I can take to get a view of the cityscape. I've seen pictures online but nobody ever mentions what ferry they are on.What ferry can I ride in Seattle to get a good view of the city?
The ferry that departs from Colman Dock on the Seattle waterfront and goes to Bainbridge Island and back will give you the best view of the city. Here is a link with some photos and information: http://www.squidoo.com/seattle-ferry-to-鈥?/a> It travels north along the waterfront as it goes to the island whereas the other ferries go south and you miss seeing the best views.
Either the one to Bainbridge of the one to Bremerton. I'd take the Bremerton one as it's a longer trip with views of the city, Alki as well as Bainbridge Island, the Kitsap Peninsula. Look for huge sea lions basking on the buoys as you enter the channel between Bainbridge and the Kitsap. It's also only $7 round trip if you walk on. In Bremerton they've really improved the waterfront with lots of nice little shops to check out, cafes to eat at, etc.

edit: great comment about the view from West Seattle. Was just over there the other day and got some really great shots of the city. Take the exit off the West Seattle Bridge to Harbor Ave which runs right along the waterfront across from the city. What ferry can I ride in Seattle to get a good view of the city?
There's one ferry terminal in downtown Seattle -- any ferry taken from that terminal will have the return trip come back to that terminal and you'll get the downtown views.

Most of the time tourists take the Bainbridge Island ferry - it's a shorter ride, and there is a cute little shopping district on Bainbridge that is walking distance from the ferry terminal. So take the ferry to Bainbridge, get off and walk into town for a cup of coffee, ice cream or light meal, then hop back on the ferry for the return trip and the views.
Good points, all above me.

As someone who is currently broke, I'd like to offer a slightly cheaper great view of Seattle too. Ferries can be a little pricey if you have a car, so instead of doing that with your vehicle, consider driving over the West Seattle Bridge to Alki Beach. There is a specific dock that I recommend that's pretty far down. It's a big open patio, you'll see some of those mounted, quarter-operated binoculars and there will be a big, iron anchor on the street side of it. It's got one of the best views of the city ever. Plus, if you take 99 on the way back in, that's a killer view from the road too.

Have fun!
Jennifer %26amp; Tori gave you great answrs, obviously locals. I just want to add one comment. Be sure to wear warm clothes, including a hat of some kind. The forecast is for cool weather and it will be even colder on the water. The boats have enclosed areas but you will want to spend some time on the open deck and be warm when walking around on the island.
