What's the difference between living in Seattle and living in Los Angeles, CA?

I am planning to move to Seattle after many years of living in LA. The reason is because I am getting old and and I don't see my dreams come true (movies, house, affordable living, etc).

I am planning to go to a place called Kent, WA or maybe to Grayland, WA both of them close to Seattle.

So, what do you think? What's the difference between living in Seattle and living in Los Angeles, CA?
Kent is a suburb a few miles south of Seattle. Other than the weather probably not a lot different from a suburb of LA - lots of strip malls, traffic, but perhaps more affordable (average home price about $250,000 - $300,000)

Grayland would be considerably different. It is NOT close to Seattle. It is about 130 miles away from Seattle on the coast of the Pacific Ocean. The weather on the coast is wetter than Seattle and cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. Grayland is small town (population about 2000) in a rural area. The main industries are growing cranberries, commercial fishing and summer tourism. Grayland would probably be less expensive than LA (average home price about $200,000), but it could be hard to find a job.
Lived all my life a few miles from Kent. Used to ride my bicycle to the Kent Valley and pick beans and berries for summer spending money. The best river-bottom topsoil in the State is now covered with asphalt Living on the east or west hills is OK, but traffic is a bear.

You said Kent and Grayland are both close to Seattle. Kent shares the Puget Sound interior with Seattle, about 15 miles south. Grayland is out on the Ocean, over a hundred miles further...

I have an aunt who is retired in Grayland. How do you suppose the place got its' name? To me it is damp, cloudy, and depressing. Yes, it is on the Coast if you like to do coastal stuff, but I can't ever get the chill out of my bones.

LA, Kent, and Grayland are all quite different. I wonder why you narrowed your WA search down to two such different locales. I suggest you spend some time up here before deciding where to settle down. If you like Kent and Grayland both for different reasons, you can do what many in the Kent area do: Buy a weekend cabin in the Grayland area! What's the difference between living in Seattle and living in Los Angeles, CA?
Well first thing I would say is the Weather. In LA your used to more heat. But in seattle you will have cooler weather. It will not rain as much as everyone says it does. But yes, there are a lot of days where it does rain. The summers are about 70-80 degrees. But will get in the 90's every once in a while. When it's sunny pretty much everyone will be outside enjoying the weather.

Also, in Seattle their is a lot of diversity. And their is a lot of traffic. But coffee is great and will help you get through your day.

Plus, now you can stop being a Dodgers, or Angels fan and be a Mariners fan!.

Hope you like Seattle
a lot of towns around seattle SUCK (really dull and dismal), and some are really interesting (Tacoma is one of them, awesome music scene, lot's of culture, Puyallup is small town and quaint, etc.) so you should do a driveby before you pack up and leave.
Kent is nice depending on what part. Around kent is the kent station with movie theatre and restaurants. Also about 10-15 mins to southcenter mall. The weather varies in WA, which is something I like. I like getting snow, rain and sun.
one L.A.has more millions of people living there than seattle , crime levels, less famous people and seattle has lots of mountains and the bay which makes a nice view also the weather which comes with washington... rain .
I live about 25 min. from kent which is where some family members live. It's a great place to start a business or raise a family.
