Anyone have any ways for me to save money on a trip to seattle?

My husband and i are planning a 2 day trip to Seattle next month, we are planning on going to the amusement park there in Tacoma, but for the 2 days we are there it looks to be about $600 this includes him and I and our twin 19mo old girls, which the hotel that we are looking into they will be staying free. If anyone has been to Seattle could you give us some hints on how to save a little money.Anyone have any ways for me to save money on a trip to seattle?
I live in Seattle and I get around mostly on my bike these days and bussing it, so I've been pretty picky about living on the cheap.

While you are in Seattle, you can bus it pretty much all around the downtown area and withing most of the metro downtown area is a "Ride Free Zone" that allows you to ride the bus in that area for free (in an attempt to reduce driving/parking in the downtown region). There's an amusement park right next to downtown Seattle called the Fun Forest which has rides, but I'd imagine you are talking about the Enchanted Village (Six Flags) which is further south in Federal Way. You could also get public transit down to there and save yourself a bundle in car rentals (taxi from downtown to Federal Way would be a bit absurd as it's about 45 minutes-1 hour drive south.

Saving money on the hotel will depend on what you have planned and if you already have selections made on where to stay. If you do, it will have to be a matter of negotiating the best price at that place, otherwise you can still shop around. I don't really want to make what are usually some of my more recommended "stay on the cheap" locales for you with twin 19 month old girls (not that they're not safe, but I just wouldn't know how safe I'd feel if I had children that age and I was going to stay at some of these places, otherwise, they're all good). There's plenty of resources out there to shop around for cheap hotels anyways to get a bargain. If you find cheap hotels nearer to the airport, it might be worth it to you to stay there, even though it's a bit south of downtown Seattle, as you can catch a single bus north to downtown for $1.25-1.75 depending on when you're riding, if that doesn't bother you. It also puts you closer to Federal Way, where there's the other amusement park and also public transit to Tacoma if that was where you meant to be going.

Aside from that, free options like walking tours of Pike Place Market and the Seattle Center Grounds (where the Space Needle/Key Arena/Pacific Science Center/Experience Music Project/Fun Forest are located) and the pier are great sightseeing sorts of activities that will only cost for when you want to grab a bite to eat or a souvenir to take along. Also, on the piers, there are ferries going to a number of different places and the ferry rides are cheap if you are not driving a car on with you. They are a wonderful ride even if you just ride and come back, or check out Bremerton, Vashon Island, and Bainbridge! Bring your camera as in the summer, when the weather is nice, waterfront shots are absolutely gorgeous!Anyone have any ways for me to save money on a trip to seattle?
go on a walking tour instead of a paid tour on wheels...it teaches you more about the city...and hey, dont forget to shop at the pike place market for cheap souvenirs instead of going to classy shops.... you can also ride the buses for just 2.50 per day (get a day pass) and you can use it over and over again....have fun exploring seattle!!
