How safe are the International district and Belltown (Seattle) at night?

I want to move close to downtown, the Seattle Center specifically.



The room/apartment needs to be relatively cheap, but Chinatown looked a bit sketch to me. I've walked a few blocks in the U-district, Greenwood, and SLU at 2 am-ish and wasn't worried. How do Belltown and the International district compare?How safe are the International district and Belltown (Seattle) at night?
Belltown and the International District (Chinatown) are not the best neighborhoods to be walking the streets at 2am. Belltown has had a number of incidents recently with shootings supposedly due to drug deals gone bad or gang wars. The International District and Pioneer Square are not good either. If you want to be by the Seattle Center, I would look at Queen Anne Hill, South Lake Union or Eastlake - much better areas.How safe are the International district and Belltown (Seattle) at night?
i wouldn't want to walk around in seattle anywere at 2am
