Can a Seattle local tell me if it ever snows there?

I desperately want to move away from this Texas heat!! Can you believe its actually hot down here coming out of October!!! Seattle was a city I was considering b/c of the very mild weather. Anyone have any tips or advice for me? I want to see a little snow in the winter but not too much. I also heard it hardly ever gets hot there, even in the summer. Anyone? Can a Seattle local tell me if it ever snows there?
First responder - you shouldn't have answered because you're entirely wrong. The fact that we're the Northernmost area in the west doesn't mean we get the snow like equal distance north in the East. The Japanese air currents keep the weather here MUCH more milder than on the East coast and Midwest - where they have lake effect snow.

I love the Seattle weather. Winters get cold but much milder that on the East coast/Midwest. But if you're wanting to ski or snowboard several ski areas are only an hour to an hour and half away. And if it's winter and raining here in Seattle that means it's snowing in the mountains.

Summers actually can get pretty hot - we had a couple of days that it hit 100 this summer! But that's not typical and any real heat spells we have are pretty short not months and months of hot days like you get down there. Plus we don't tend to get that humid heat that really makes it uncomfortable.

And contrary to what some believe it DOESN'T rain all the time in Seattle. We do get a lot of gray misty rain days but we're not even in the top FORTY rainiest places in the US! And because of the protection of the mountain ranges around us we don't tend to get thunderstorms and lightning.

Seattle's a wonderful place to live. I moved up here four years ago from sweltering South Florida and won't even go back to visit. My best friend down there, though, has been up every year without fail to visit me because she loves it here as well. Great climate, gorgeous mountains, lots and lots of pine trees and friendly people. Also really close to Canada - Vancouver and Victoria - for weekend trips. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else.
One or two snowstorms a year isn't unusual, but that's about it. Compared to most places in Texas, that's chump change. :-)

And yes, you've heard correctly about the summers not being terribly hot here. Temperatures in the 90s are rare even in the hottest part of summer.

In general, compared to a lot of places, Seattle has moderate weather: Not too hot in the summer, and not too cold in the winter. The part that's hardest to get used to is that there's not much sunshine for several months during late fall, winter, and early spring because 1) we're further north and have shorter days in the winter and 2) there tends to be a lot of cloud cover in the winter here even when it's not raining. Can a Seattle local tell me if it ever snows there?
I am from Seattle, born and raised and YES we get snow! We don't get a whole lot, but we get enough. And who says it doesn't get warm here? It does! Compared to Texas, it isn't as hot, but in the summer it'll get up to about 80+. Seattle is beautiful in the summer! Come visit us!! :)
Btw, we're called Seattleites. It usually snows a couple times a year. Probably sticks about once a year. Up to a foot.

Summers are usually in the 80's. But you can't depend on the weather being nice on July 4th a month in advance. It might be 70 and cloudy. But the weatherman is usually right with the weekly forecast.

Seattle is beautiful. Everyone should take a drive on a sunny day on Lake Washington Blvd. all the way to Seward Park. So many people don't know about this gem. It ranks with the most beautiful places in the world. :)
well im not from seattle or nor i have ever been there but i can imagne they get hit with snow.

they are near the pacific so the water doesnt help( i dont remeber the scientic explnation)

and they are high north so it will be cold and it will snow
