How long does it take to drive from Los Angeles,CA to Seattle,WA? What was the drive like?

I'm planning on driving to Seattle for 4 days from Los Angeles. I'm going to first spend a night in Portland,Oregon. I'm looking at leaving Los Angeles at 5am and arriving in portland at 10pm or 11pm the same day.

Is this drive doable? Where is a good place to stop along interstate 5 to eat? Weed,CA;Ashland,Oregon;Roseburg, oregon as well as Eugene.

18 hours with no stops. I-5 is pretty boring through California. It gets more scenic through Oregon. Ashland is a nice place to stop if you get off the highway and walk around the town. They're known for their Shakespeare festival and have some nice restaurants.

There are fastfood and truckstop diners all along the route in California. Fresno's about 4.5 hours from LA. Sacramento's another 2.5 hours north. If you stop in Old Town Sacramento there are some interesting food places.

If it's during winter carry chains, blankets, and emergency supplies for sure. An accident ahead of you in the mountains with snow (like around Mt. Shasta) can leave you stuck for a long time.
The drive is 18.5 hours of non-stop driving.

It's been a while, but I did Seattle to the SF bay area in 16 hours a long time ago. LA to Portland will be one really long day, and leaving LA at 5 AM you will be lucky to be there at 10 or 11 PM - it will probably be later than that.

I recommend finding a stop sooner in your day - Ashland, Medford or Eugene Oregon all would be good stops that still get you 12+ hours in the first day.How long does it take to drive from Los Angeles,CA to Seattle,WA? What was the drive like?
Take the short stroll down to the notable landmark that is Raymond Square. Pay a visit to the extraordinary Raymond Square landmark because you wanted to enjoy the local Seattle legendary tourist sites. This landmark is some of the most remarkable sites. Westin-san-diego.com
I done this drive a few times as I live and seattle area and I'm originally from the LA area. The trip is about 16.5 hours driving none stop. However, I never done it in one day from LA to Portand but its certain doable. Medford would be a good place to eat if you want to eat at around 5PM. This is a big city and it would allow you more choices. Otherwise, you can get into Roseburg at after 6:30ish and there are some fast food and a few restaurants. Eugene also is a bigger city though the main part of the city is a little off the freeway. But you won't get there until close to 8:00PM. By then, you probably won't want to stop because its late and you want to get to your destination. I time I suggested assume that you go a little faster than the speed limit and do take breaks about once every few hours.

However, If you can stay some where else, I would suggest that you stay some where in Southern OR for a night as this would be a exhaustive trip.
